Over one hour from a full tank, it gave 91 gallons in the test (its first-hour rating). Its tank holds 74 gallons, so reheating adds 17 gallons during the first hour. In the first hour, 43 of the 481 heat pump models give more hot water. The median heat pump model gives 72 gallons in the first hour of the test.

It is ENERGY STAR certified under its single model number. In the test, it gives 4.00 units of hot water energy per unit it uses (its UEF). It moves heat from the air rather than making it, so its UEF passes 1. Its test simulated a day of high hot water use (its draw pattern). Of 237 heat pump models with the same draw pattern, 70 have a higher UEF. A UEF of 3.88 is the median for its type and draw pattern. When it reheats water in the test, the water gains 450% of the energy it uses.

There are 16 more basic models with the same test figures. Besides this brand, 15 brands list one or more of them. For the full group, see the 1HVAC ACIQ-80G-HP-WH.

It may qualify for 16 rebate programs. Another 6 programs may accept it if it meets their other terms.
